Upon melting, Colouraplast discs display a smooth, uniform image surface. However, a more refined and striking appearance is achieved when the visible side is given a fine, granular, or hammered texture. This makes it resemble a cathedral glass panel, scattering sunlight and creating even more brilliant decorative effects. To achieve this, the finished disc is placed on an aluminum structure plate and briefly reheated in the oven. The Colouraplast material melts, adhering to the aluminum plate's texture and adopting its shape. Once cooled, the completed image plate is removed from the oven and immediately peeled off the structure plate.
