It works best with firmer doughs that maintain their shape, including pasta dough and dough used for making springerle cookies, as well as other doughs like fondant and marzipan for decorative treats. To use, roll out dough to the desired thickness and cut a circle with the base. Turn the base cutter-side down, place the dough round on the swirl design, and press the top stamp down firmly with a comfortable, controlled motion to emboss the floral and spiral patterns in one step.
