"POPEE the ぱ フォーマー" is a CG anime produced by Zuiyo and Kids Station.
It's a surreal and black humor-filled slapstick gag comedy silent anime featuring "Popee," a trainee clown wearing a rabbit hat, and the mysterious masked animal "Kedamono."
It contains many intense and violent depictions and expressions that one wouldn't expect from a children's anime, such as exploding bombs, wildly wielding weapons to dismember characters, shooting characters, eating characters, dragging characters with a car, and swallowing swords. For this reason, Kids Station, which is ostensibly a children's channel, self-censored two episodes (see below), but the skillful direction that takes advantage of the design and 3DCG characteristics transforms it into a surreal, absurd gag.
